On the heels of another African American Hollywood powerhouse (see my Tyler Perry announcement just beneath this one)... Shonda Rhimes has repotedly sold another drama to ABC!

This one titled The Circle, will be an hour-long, is said to be "part soap, part conspiracy thriller," according to THR.

The drama follows ten friends, adopted as children by a billionaire philanthropist, who begin to question their past when one of their own is murdered

It was just a week ago that Monique posted a fiery entry on Rhimes, which inspired lots of debate, as expected. In that post, it was announced that Rhimes had sold a dramedy series to Fox titled Wildwood. You can read that post HERE if you missed it, along with the 65 or so comments that followed.

Today's news marks Shonda Rhime's 4th new sale of the season.

While Tyler Perry rules the big screen; Shonda Rhimes seems to be doing the same on the small screen.

Haven't really been interested in a Shonda production since Isaiah was fired from Grey's but this sounds promising. I'll give Scandal a look as well.

    I respect what she's doing.

Definitely not knocking Shonda's hustle. While the other show S&A covered might not be that interesting, this has some potential, especially if the adopted kids are multiracial like Josephine Baker's Rainbow Tribe. I always wondered what happened to those kids.
