This should excite fans of the series, which has crossed over, across the pond, to attract and continue to grow its fan-based here in the USA, as more folks discover the series.

Speaking in a podcast interview with Panel Borders earlier this week, the show's creator, Howard Overman, talked about E4's hit superhero drama series (although not your typical Hollywood superheroe series) about a group of teens assigned to do community service, who also happen to be living with superpowers. In the 33-minute interview, he talks about the genesis of the show, writing episodes that engage with other genres such as time travel and "zombie noir," the challenges in having to write certain characters out and introduce new ones, and, finally, details on the status of a Misfits movie he's been working on, and which I'm only just now learning about.

You might recall talk of a potential USA remake of the series for American audiences, but there hasn't been any news on that in a long time (at least, nothing that's been made public). Fans of the original rebuffed the idea, as I remember, so maybe it's been shelved.

Here's the quote:

"I've written the first draft of the script and we'll see what happens... If it happens, it will involve past and present characters, I'm not allowed to give away anything more than that..."

He doesn't give much away, which is understandable, and dances around the questions the interviewer asks, eventually flat-out saying that he can't essentially can't talk about it, but it's clear that a film adaptation is definitely in development, so we'll just have to wait and see what develops.

You can listen to the full interview HERE.

So what do you fans of the Misfits think about the potential for a movie some time down the road?

Agreed. The original cast was everything and I can't really stomach the show with the new folks/weak plotlines. Wouldn't care about a film unless they got all 5 originals back - not that it would be easy, but here's hoping. Bonus points if Ruth Negga, Zawe Ashton or Jessica Brown Findlay are involved.

I really tried to give this new season a chance but after they killed off Curtis, I can't stand to watch. Rudy is OK but the other 2 are just annoying as hell.

I only have one comment.... Misfits S4E4, what the hell!?! I didn't see that coming at all, and I'm having trouble caring or connecting with the show for the past two weeks. The new characters aren't as interesting as the original 5, just sayin'. And since Curtis is no longer the last man standing, I don't know. A movie might help the franchise regain that 'ol feeling.

Agreed. The first episode of Season 4 was a major disappointment as was Curtis' storyline. I too, couldn't give 2 shits about the new characters. What were they thinking?
