Oscar-nominated actress Sophie Okonedo will be returning to the stage soon. She's set to star in Haunted Child, a new psychological thriller penned by Joe Penhall.

Penhall says his drama is ..."about a small boy and his mum who live in West London. The boy is haunted by his father’s disappearance.

The mother’s not sure if he’s dead. We do know the father has had some sort of psychotic episode and a cult might be involved."

He also was more than ecstatic to have enticed Sophie back to theater saying..."Sophie’s not shabby: I’ve finally written something that’s good enough for her!"

Okonedo will be joined by Ben Daniels and a yet-to-be-cast seven year old boy.

Jeremy Herrin will direct the project at the Royal Court from December 2.
