Anyone in the Chicagoland area can't afford to miss this. On Sunday September 4 at 2PM, J. Kevin Swain's documentary about the popular and highly influential music show Soul Train, The Hippest Trip In America, will be screened at the Gene Siskel Film Center in downtown Chicago.

The show, which originated as local program in Chicago, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

But what makes this screening even more special is that the the man himself, Don Cornelius, the creator and host of Soul Train, will be at the screening, in person, to present the film, and for a Q and A afterward.

The legendary dance party show made television history, and still set trends in soul and R&B music, dance, and fashion, even to this day. '

Let us reminisce shall we?

Reminds me... wasn't Cornelius making a Soul Train movie? I think we announced it last year, or the year before. Wonder what happened to it... will have to research.
