Spike Lee will be giving a free (I said FREE) lecture in the University Library at Chicago State University located at 9501 S. King Dr (as in Martin Luther King Dr.) in Chicago on Weds Feb 8 at 6PM.
No word on what the topic of his lecture will be yet, but there will be also a Q and A following his speech, and possibly a panel with Spike and other filmmakers and cineastes.
No doubt he'll discuss something about his new film Red Hook Summer premiering this month at Sundance.
And did I mention that it's free?

I'd love to attend and tell him to get over himself, and ask him how Quentin Tarantino was supposed to make a movie about slavery without using the "N" word. As a white guy, Django Unchained showed me more about that terrible time in our history and how poorly men can, did, and still do treat each other. Of course, as a white guy without a death wish, I'm not allowed on the south side of Chicago so I can only hope someone else asks him this stuff. He is a racist hypocrite.

I'll be driving from Detroit to do an interview. This is BIG! When was the last time Spike did a lecture in the midwest?

Being from Illinois myself and Spike being one of my favorite filmmakers this is the opportunity of a lifetime to actually go to Chicago State University and hear and meet a wonderful director like Mr. Lee. Can`t wait!!!!!!
