I gave it a shot, watching about 3 episodes, but just couldn't stick with it. I suppose I'm not in its target audience.
But if you are, and/or you loved it, this should please you.
It's going to be an interesting, crowded fall 2013 in terms of daytime talkshows, when Queen Latifah launches her own, co-produced by Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment. Assuming Trisha Goddard's show is renewed for a second season as well, there'll be a handful of black daytime talkshow hosts during the 2013/2014 season.

CHICAGO, IL - January 10, 2013 - NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution has renewed "Steve Harvey" for its second season in national syndication, it was announced today by Barry Wallach, President, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution and David Goldberg, Chairman and CEO , Endemol North America.
Steve Harvey is the host of the new one-hour daytime show and was chosen by the 2013 People's Choice Awards as Favorite New Talk Show Host. "Steve Harvey" is currently sold is currently sold in 98% of the country including all of the NBC Owned Television stations. Since the show's debut, markets that are upgrading "Steve Harvey" include Detroit, Phoenix, Portland (OR), Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Salt Lake City, Oklahoma City, Austin, Buffalo, Fresno, Fort Myers, Tucson, Honolulu, Des Moines, Madison, Tri Cities and Burlington, among many others. In addition, NBCUniversal is actively extending the show with stations across the U.S. for 2014-2016.

In its premiere season, "Steve Harvey" has been a phenomenon in all key rating benchmarks. In the November 2012 sweep, "Steve Harvey" is the only new syndicated strip to increase over year-ago time periods, build on its lead-in and grow in consecutive quarter-hour ratings among Households and Women 25-54. In fact, "Steve Harvey" is one of only 4 syndicated talk shows over the last decade to accomplish all three of these feats in its premiere November sweep, alongside "Dr. Phil," "Ellen" and "Dr. Oz."
