Steve McQueen's sex addiction drama Shame, has an official UK release date of January 13, 2012, according to an Empire Online exclusive report.

The highly anticipated film, starring Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan, James Badge Dale and Nicole Beharie, promises "a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us."

Does that mean it will be released after this date in the U.S.? I was expecting a domestic release date at the end of this year; which it still may be the case, hopefully.

We just got the first film stills, which I posted HERE.

The film's trailer should surface very soon.
