Sheldon Candis' feature film debut, LUV, which stars Common and Michael Rainey Jr, will make its debut at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, in the dramatic competition section, and it's on my short list of films to see while I'm there, starting in less than 3 weeks.

The film's official synopsis reads:

An orphaned 11-year-old boy is forced to face the unpleasant truth about his beloved uncle during one harrowing day in the streets of Baltimore.

Dennis Haysbert, Danny Glover, and Charles S. Dutton also co-star.

Director Candis talks about the project in the below Sundance "Meet The Artist" series video:

    Good luck to the filmmaker!

The images sort of remind me of "Pursuit of Happines" Lol.

Congrats to him and his new genre (hahaha). Fingers crossed, we have another Pariah on our hands. It was sad to hear that "The Last Fall" didn't get into Sundance, but all is not lost. There are many more festivals coming up.
