After painstaking consideration, we have had to make the difficult business decision to not order a season six of Eureka. But Eureka is not over yet. There is a new holiday episode this December and 12 stellar episodes set to debut next year, marking its fifth season and six memorable years on Syfy. The 2012 episodes are some of the best we’ve seen, and will bring this great series to a satisfying end. We are very grateful to Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia, their team of incredible writers, and an amazing cast and crew who have consistently delivered a series we continue to be very proud of. We thank the fans for their support of this show and know they will enjoy its final season in 2012.

A statement from Syfy execs regarding its Eureka series, which I haven't watched a single episode of, and so couldn't tell you much about. I do know that Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Joe Morton co-star in it. Will any of you miss it?

Eureka is excellent. When I waste my time with TV, eureka provided the fix. It is one of a few shows that my son (9yo) and I (a scientist) can watch together and be totally engaged. My son was always inspired after an episode. To boot it was a fictitious utopia where merit superseded race, ethnicity and gender. Other than the obvious woman-being-pregnant, it seemed that any role could have been played by anyone.I think all the actors in lead and supporting roles do great work - blacks, Latinos and whites alike. And Salli is very easy on the eyes. My son and I will miss it. I will actively boycott Syfy channel and Comcast - money talks.

Hell yes. It is the one show that I liked on Syfy. I started watching it when I learned Joe Morton and Salli Richardson-Whitfield were on it. WTF. I just bought season 4 on DVD. Come on Syfy.

This is pretty sad this is one of my favorite shows. I love the cast. I think out of all the shows that are currently airing on syfy this is the best one which really sucks there dropping it maybe they will change there mind but we'll see doubt it. Very very sad :::single tear::::

I really enjoy this show - all of the leads are engaging and while they are always close to unleashing some scientific armageddon upon the world, the show has a subtle sweetness to it. I will be sad to see it go. SR-W and Joe Morton have done a great job through the years as well as all of the multi-cultural cast.

I've been about two season behind for...about two seasons. But it was super fun, cute show and I loved Salli and Joe. I think it's had its run and what a fun, successful run it was! I'll eventually buy the boxsets.

Yes! The famous Joe from Broter from Another Planet is a brilliant scientist too. The show is cute and quirky.

YES!! it's one of the few sci-fi shows that's witty, intriguing and also has a black woman as a major cast member (and she doesn't get killed off).
