Shepard who is leaving "The View" this month, after serving as co-host for 8 years, will officially join the "Cinderella" cast as Madame on September 9 - the same date that Keke Palmer will also make her Broadway debut in the show's title role.

It's a movie that I think actually lends itself very well to the stage, although if I were to recommend any of Spike's films for a stage adaptation, it would instead be "School Daze"... and as a musical, not a play.

Ultimately, this is a talented ensemble cast, that, even through the clunky staging, unimaginative book, and seemingly vision-less direction, is apparent, and the show's saving grace, along with the spirit in which it was conceived and made.
