Back in May, in an interview earlier today with BBC Radio 5, Brit renaissance man (director, writer, actor, producer, playwright, and who knows what else), Noel Clarke, who we've given a lot of pixels to on this site, revealed that he had written a sci-fi horror movie that was scheduled to begin production the following month, in June; but he refused to reveal much else about the project, not even the name, despite being pressed by the host of the show.

Fast-forward to November, and we finally know more about that secretive project - the title, synopsis, release date, and who else is in it.

Zoe Saldana, Mark Wahlberg, and Marion Cotillard are reportedly all circling starring roles in French actor/writer/director Guillaume Canet's English-language debut - a stateside remake of the 2008 thriller in which he starred titled Les Liens Du Sang (or Rivals as it was titled in English).

I've never been a big fan of the films of hermetic indie filmmaker Hal Hartley, even though he was once considered one of a handful of young trailblazing auteurs back in the late 80s/early 90s, along with the likes of Gus Van Sant, Todd Haynes and others, who were producing esoteric, smart, cheaply-made arty films that appealed to a small, tightly-knit, proud subculture of young (mostly white) film lovers; films that defined his auteurist style, like The Unbelievable Truth and Trust, which featured some of the earliest performances by actors like Eddie Falco, and Henry Fool years later.
