The documentary Elder's Corner is created by SIJI, a singer, songwriter, producer and filmmaker born in the UK to Nigerian parents. The project, shot in some of Nigeria's urban cities, has raised $5,380 from their $20,000 with 31 days left to go.

A documentary film project by Sosena Solomon, Merkato, has raised $5,240 of the $12,000 goal through their Kickstarter Campaign, which has 11 days left to go. The documentary was shot in the open air markets of the streets of Addis Ababa, Ehiopia.

A narrative film by Nefertite Nguvu, In The Morning, is produced by Arthur Jafa, who will also serve as the Director of Photography. Jafa is known best for his cinematography work in Julie Dash's critically acclaimed Daughters of the Dust and Spike Lee's Crooklyn.

Nekisa Cooper's critically acclaimed Pariah will be released in theaters this fall and will also screen at the Toronto Film Festival next month. However, Cooper has another project she's currently concentrating on along with cinematographer Bradford Young (Mississippi Damned, Restless City, Pariah, Middle of Nowhere) called Five Nights in Maine.
