Seems like damn near every other article on S & A for the past week has been about Quentin Tarantino's magnum opus hasn't it? And despite Tambay's disappointing review of the script (below), it's the hottest property in Hollywood right now. (WHAT????? You mean Tambay has no clout in Hollywood?)

There hasn't been much news on this film since our last post on this, in December 2010. As far as I know, the sales and production team behind it are negotiating release deals and dates, so it really hasn't screened very much since its worldwide debut at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival last October.

He hasn't been behind the camera since 2009's Law Abiding Citizen; since then he's been attached to a Marvin Gaye biopic, and the film adaptation of the video game titled Kane & Lynch, which was/is to star Jamie Foxx and Bruce Willis; though nothing has happened on either front.

As I sit pondering what color roses to get my Mom for Mother's Day tomorrow and if dinner will be on time (my sisters are usually slow and late) , I couldn't help but think about the great moms in films. If I did a list, and there are quit a few out there on various film sites, it most certainly would be endless but the one person who would probably be in the top 5 for me is actress Irma P. Hall.

As my Yiddish brothers and sisters would say, Oy vey... Read on below from Deadline:Warner Bros has been trying to get its Tarzan movie up and running for several years. Now, I'm hearing that the studio is trying again and word on the vine is they might well commission two separate scripts that'll be written simultaneously. One will be by Adam Cozad, a rising scribe whose recent work includes the Jack Ryan reboot and Archangel, the pic that has Tron: Legacy's Joseph Kosinski attached. I also hear that the studio is talking to Craig Brewer about doing a different version of the picture. This has been done before on big pictures and usually the studio makes a decision on which way to go when they both come in. Sometimes, the other script is the next movie in the franchise. But it certainly gives hope that Tarzan will be swinging in the jungle before too long.

Hmm... very interesting... I'm very well aware that he was multi-talented, but I had no idea Tupac Shakur wrote a screenplay; the only one he ever penned. And, the rights to that screenplay have been acquired by a production team planning to make a filmed version of it.

We initially wrote about this film last summer, July 2010, and haven't spoken of it since, mostly because there doesn't seem to have been much announced between then and the present.

"I heard the other day that we should be good to go in mid-January, we're supposed to go to Australia to start. I guess there's a point where you say, 'yeah, yeah, yeah,'... But I hope it gets made. They're saying it is. I've had this role now for over a year and they've done a great job at staying in contact and reassuring me that the film is going to happen. They've put together such a cool cast and I know they've started building a lot of the vehicles and cameras and they've really been in pre-production for such a long time, so I think it'll happen... There's a group of five women being taken from one place to another place, and I'm one of those women... So they call us the five wives. There are five women who are five wives. No, I'm not playing all five wives... I really hope it happens, because George is amazing and Tom Hardy is too. I love the film. And I think the best time to make it is probably right now. George wants to push the limits with the stunts, make it all really real. Because even by today's standards, a lot of the stunts from the original 'Mad Max' are very impressive… so what we'll do now, that'll be pretty mind-blowing."
