Tickets Now On Sale For For Katori Hall's MLK Play "The Mountaintop" Starring Samuel L Jackson

The show doesn't open until October 13, and the lead actress hasn't even been cast yet, but tickets for the Broadway premiere of Katori Hall's 2010 Olivier Award-winning Best Play, The Mountaintop, are now officially on sale.

Ya know, I'm not sure I ever knew that Denzel Washington's wife, Pauletta Washington was an actress... or maybe I did, and I just forgot altogether, since she hasn't done very much of it; but yes, she is. In fact, Denzel met her back in 1977, when she was Pauletta Pearson, on the set of the 1977 TV movie Wilma, which both actors co-starred in, and which was Pauletta's very first on screen role.

Reading THIS piece on the New York Post's website this afternoon, and learned the following: that Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr. is indeed developing a Broadway musical based on his life "to set the record straight on the inception of the iconic label."

It opened tonight, May 9th. Any of you out there see it in previews, or tonight? I'm referring to Sanaa Lathan starring in Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, Lynn Nottage's new play, By The Way, Meet Vera Stark, as a black maid in Hollywood pursuing her dream of making it in the movies, while also grappling with racial stereotypes through several decades of the 20th century.
