Whoa! This is certainly an interesting development. A TV drama series based on Walter Mosley's fictional African American private investigator Ezekiel “Easy” Rawlins. Not a film, but a TV series.

So... it was already announced that James Cameron mega-grossing hit Titanic is being converted to 3D for a spring 2012 release; now this news drops: Tony Scott’s 1986 classic Top Gun starring Tom Cruise is being converted to 3D for a theatrical release.

Recall the series of entries we posted on the black British actor's lament on the lack of onscreen opportunities for black talent in the UK, and the so-called talent drain as some of those actors and actresses are said to be fleeing west to the land of milk and honey, aka Hollywood, where better opportunities supposedly await them?

Word on the street (from articles I read on both Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter) this morning are that, thanks to it explicit depictions of the symptoms of sexual addiction - including "male and female full-frontal nudity, graphic depictions of straight/gay/threeway sex, masturbation, urination and a gruesome suicide attempt," as THR puts it, Steve McQueen's sophomore feature directorial effort Shame, which stars Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan and Nicole Beharie, is guaranteed an "NC-17" rating here in the USA.
