Well, as reported by The Playlist today, Spike Lee, producer Jon Kilik and actors Edward Norton and Philip Seymour Hoffman attended the festivities, where Spike Lee uncovered a few interesting details from 10 years ago.

In my last post on this a few days ago, I speculated that the reason why the film's title had been changed from Things Fall Apart (what it's been called from the start), to All Things Fall Apart, was that the company distributing the film (Image Entertainment) may have been influenced by the fact that the original title is also the name of a seminal, well-known piece of literature by Nigerian author Chinua Achebe, and wanted to avoid further confusion or hassle.

As I mentioned last week, starting this week, Focus Features is taking the unusual step of screening Dee Rees' Pariah for the media, activist and support groups, and just plain regular folks, some 4 months before its release on Christmas Day in NY, Chicago and LA, and the rest of the country on January 2012.

The creators of The Book of Mormon - the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical that centers on two young Mormon missionaries who are sent off to spread the word in Uganda, hoping to convert more than a few Africans, and which features a significant black cast - say they plan to adapt the stage work for the big screen, as a feature film.

A Toronto International Film Festival selection this year, anticipation for it was high, however, since it screened at the festival (its debut) reviews have been mixed. Though there's still buzz around it, especially with regards to star Woody Harrelson's performance. Some are talking Oscar.

So... it was already announced that James Cameron mega-grossing hit Titanic is being converted to 3D for a spring 2012 release; now this news drops: Tony Scott’s 1986 classic Top Gun starring Tom Cruise is being converted to 3D for a theatrical release.
