André Leon Talley Inks Deal To Develop Late-Night Talk Show For Cable TV

Vogue magazine contributing editor, André Leon Talley has reportedly signed a deal with production company Electus (founded by ex-NBC Entertainment co-chairman Ben Silverman and IAC Corp.) to develop a late-night talk show, which Talley will obviously host, as well as executive produce.

Aisha Hinds has joined the cast of the much-buzzed about new drama Under the Dome, which is based on the 2009 Stephen King novel of the same name, and follows residents of a small town that is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field, as they search for answers as to what the barrier is, where it came from and when/if it will go away.

My generation will no doubt remember that old Ironside TV show on NBC, back during the late 60's to the mid-70's or so. It was huge hit for the network. If you remember the show, I'll bet you can remember how the show's theme music started. I'll also bet that it's even been sampled by rappers.

And finally, ending the day with some totally non-essential news, comes word that former NBA legend, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and former Cosby kid (although I'm sure she hates being called that) Keshia Knight Pulliam, have joined the cast of ABC's new celebrity competetion sports show Splash.

He's quite forgotten today, though there seems to be a lot of high schools across the country named in his honor. But I'm willing to bet that if you asked every student in all those schools and about 90% of the teachers, they would have no idea who Whitney Young was.

It's not a "black show" but it's a very good one, and I recommend you watch it - those with Netflix accounts (if you don't have a Netflix account, you'd have to sign up for one - it's only $8 a month - and check out the strong work that is House Of Cards, the on and offline film rental and streaming company's original series, set to compete with premium cablers like HBO and Showtime).
