Here are 4 new clips from the Lionsgate/Summit thriller, Snitch, which stars Dwayne Johnson, and is directed by Ric Roman Waugh (mostly a stunt coordinator for several previous action films like Gone In 60 Seconds).
Johnson stars as a father whose teenage son is wrongly accused of a drug distribution crime and is looking at a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years. Desperate and determined to rescue his son at all costs, he makes a deal with the U.S. attorney to work as an undercover informant and infiltrate a drug cartel on a dangerous mission, risking everything, including his family and his own life.
Michael K. Williams co-stars as a narcotics kingpin with a short temper who becomes involved with Johnson's character.
Benjamin Bratt and Susan Sarandon also co-star in a film that is said to be based on a real life PBS Frontline documentary.
The project had been in development for years; and, at one point, Carl Franklin was attached to direct.
Snitch is set to be released on February 22.

I've seen the trailers and thought I love the Rock, Sarandon, Perrineau, and Williams, it feels like a disposable straight-to-DVD flick. I'm also thrown that Rock's kid doesn't have even the slightest bit of melanin. I know it happens with mixed kids, but that's a stark contrast between father and son.
