Thandie Newton is in negotiations to star in 10 episodes of the DirecTV-greenlit cop drama series Rogue, written by Matthew Parkhill (U.K.'s "The Caller")

Newton would star as an undercover cop, who in a personal vendetta, looks to come face to face with a high-profile gangster after her son is killed in a drive-by shooting.

Rogue will be DirecTV's first original series.

Nick Hamm will serve as executive producer.
