Bet you had forgotten about this 1999 serial killer thriller with Denzel Washington too, like I did.

But in spite of some problems, including a very easy to spot "surprise" suspect who's obvious from the moment he appaers on the screen, the film isn't bad at all, and has some genuinely suspenseful sequences.

And there's also Angelina Joile in one of her first major starring roles, when she still had some shape, before she went all anorexic and creepy looking.

The premise has Washington as an NYC cop who winds up a quadriplegic, as a result of an accident, and along with Jolie as a young rookie cop, together find out who's the sicko who's been kidnapping people in his taxi and killing them in awful and grisly ways.

And, oh yes, Queen Latitah is in it too, as Washington's caregiver.

So if you want to see the best it's ever going to look, it's coming out on Blu-ray DVD from Universal Home Entertainment on January 8th. Special features include a commentary by director Phillip Noyce who later went on to direct Jolie in Salt.

the commentary about angelina jolie's shape is so unnecessary, and sexist, to be honest. not relevant at all.
