The Surprising "Must See" Television Shows For President Obama Are...

I've always been a fervent supporter of President Obama and when he revealed back in 2008 his love of HBO's The Wire, his stock increased.  After all, it wasn't a "safe" pick to name and, in my opinion, it conveyed a certain edginess.

With his recent viewing habits revealed in an interview with People magazine, that stock rises again.  So what's on his list?  Here's what he said:

"For the girls and me, Modern Family, that's our favorite show," the President says, adding that he's "a little darker" in his TV habits, listing Boardwalk Empire and Homeland as his must-sees, other than sports.

Sounds pretty cool to me!  I haven't had a chance to check out Homeland  but it's now on my list of shows to check out.  View the trailer below.

So many shows to catch up with! I love that he loves Modern Family....such a great comedy.

I do want to check out Homeland and Boardwalk Empire, just that I need to catch up on Damages and The Sopranos sighs so much to watch!

i've been digging HOMELAND, too (big claire danes fan here), though i do think it skirted close to jumping the shark: the affair, the return of a sniper though long dead, and, worst of all, the "reason" for brodie's going to the other side. still, i'm hooked and looking forward to the next season. but BOARDWALK EMPIRE is still king, with GAME OF THRONES making a strong pitch to catch up. I also like HELL ON WHEELS, though it looks like not enuf people are giving it a chance vs. the overrated WALKING DEAD. and if the prez were really edgy: what no BREAKING BAD??! "boardwalk" is king, but "bad" is the pope.

Homeland is the BEST. NEW. SHOW. ON. TELEVISION. Incredibly well-written, well acted, smart, suspenseful, intense, thoughtful, it's just fantastic television all the way around.

THANKS CYNTHIA! We need more post like this. I mean, personally, President Obama is my main man, my brother of the same struggle, my ace coon boom ( That's "ol'skool". I mean that in an affectionate way). You know, like Jug said, this doesn't surprise me in the least because Mr Obama and his family have always displayed an image of a grounded Black American family. Come on now, they who might break out and do the double dutch or dance to Beyounce's latest hit. Come on now, my man can't dance a lick by Michelle got hips AND rhythm. So it's no surprise to me that The Wire was getting playing time in the Obama household. It's also no shock that he ain't scared to say it loud and say it proud. GO OBAMA! 2012!

I ain't surprised at all. You see how he wanted to jump out the bully pulpit & whoop Joe Wilson at the State of the Union? Every time Obama gets out of The Beast, his pimp walk is hard LMBAO Favorite movie is probably BLACK CAESAR LOL
