WB set an official release date of April 12, 2013 for 42, its Jackie Robinson biopic that Brian Helgeland directed for Legendary Pictures.
Relative newcomer Chadwick Boseman (who's worked primarily in television on shows like Fringe, Justified and Castle) is playing Jackie Robinson in the film, with Nicole Beharie as Robinson’s widow, Rachel Robinson, née Rachel Isum.
Also Harrison Ford co-stars as Branch Rickey - the Brooklyn Dodgers manager who made history by signing Robinson as the first black player in the history of the Major League Baseball organization.
Brian Helgeland directed from a script he also wrote, which tells Robinson's story, as the first African-American to play in the major leagues.
The WB has released a fresh, new poster for the film, which is embedded below (the most recent trailer is underneath if you haven't seen it):

The poster was brilliant...it looks as though he is laboring hard trying to climb a mountain and of course he is sliding into base. I see its artistic intent. The trailer looks really good...got goose bums when jay started rapping in sync with the scenes of the movie.. This is on my list fa sho

I think it's ADT they honored Jackie Robinson. I love the movie poster! It has strength, action and power. The only problem I have is that it should have been Vertical instead of Horizontal. That way it will look as if he's sliding across a base instead of looking as if he's sliding into a hole.

Sorry to offend Carl, just some humor there...I was not serious with that comment and was not trying to put one down to life another up. Stop SMH'ng because you may strain your neck over nothing. Have a swell day!
