It made its TV debut last night on VH1, although, last week, the network did make available online, the season premiere episode of its scripted hour-long drama Hit The Floor - which co-stars Kimberly Elise and newcomer Taylour Paige, as well as Charlotte RossLogan Browninghas and Dean Cain.

Did you watch - whether online, or on TV? If you did, your thoughts?

Sanaa Hamri directed the pilot episode of a show that will focus on the lives and loves of a team of professional basketball dancers.

Hit The Floor follows the lives and loves of the Los Angeles Devil Girls, the dance team for the No.1 professional basketball team in the country. It centers on Ahsha (Taylour Paige), a sheltered young woman who joins the team against the wishes of her mother Sloane (Kimberly Elise), who knows this treacherous, tempting world all too well having been an original Devil’s Girl herself. Olivia (Charlotte Ross) is the shrewd squad manager, Jelena (Logan Browning) is the ruthless star captain of the dance team and Pete Davenport (Dean Cain) is the former All-Star who’s come back to coach his old team only to have to contend with the girls both stealing the spotlight and distracting his players.

The cast also includes Valery OrtizKatherine BailessJonathan McDaniel, Rob Riley and McKinley Freeman

It's been called "VH1's biggest scripted effort to date."

If you missed it, below you can watch the series' premiere.

The only good things about this show is Kimberly Elise, the white lady who is the cheer director and Dean Cain (of whom I am generally not a fan). It is too high school for my taste and the characters are too stereotypical like in an 80s teen flick. I don't like the show at all but it is watchable if bored. The lead "good girl" reminds me of the hazel-eyed chick from single ladies, in that she is a bad actress but she's pretty. I don't suspect that this show will have a 3rd season.

Well, I liked it. Especially the ending. And I like Dean Cain and Charlotte Ross (from shows back in the day) and absolutely love K. Elise. But I wasn't expecting much because... it's VH1, people. What were you expecting, something Emmy worthy?? You need only look at "Single Ladies" to know that wasn't going to happen.

so bc it is on vh1 it inst emmy worthy? VH1 bought the show, it isnt behind the production so it could very well be emmy worthy.

and emmys only recognises anglo anyway. The FANTASTIC Bernie Mac Show was on broadcast network Fox and still wa ignored. THE COSBY SHOW was on NBC, was #1 show for 3/4 yrs straight, but still never won emmys.

Well I actually enjoyed. Yeah it wasn't the best, and it seems to be geared towards the young, but I was entertained.

Caught less than 15 min online. So bad. It was like the former dancer on B'Ball Wives wrote it. And why was the lead character, so seemed to be born and raised in L.A., acting like a fresh-faced Midwesterner straight from the bus depot? It was also hard for me to have empathy for a character who claims that her only ambition throughout her entire life was to be a Devil Girl.

I caught a few minutes, but wasn't interested. Seemed for high school/teens?

Let's start with the positive. Kimberly Elise is beautiful and a very talented actress. She is the best thing and the only thing about this show I like. It's good to see her smiling for a change. I want to stick around for her but the writing is poor and her daughter acting skills are medicore. Sanaa Hamri filmaking always leaves much to be desired. Her films always look like music videos. The production and editing always look choppy. The scenes just don't flow evenly to me.
In my opinion this concept should have been incorporated in the Game on BET. This would have been a good direction to take that show in as far a show casing the cheerleaders instead of just the players while keeping the main characters of the GAME in place. JMO

"the game" was fvked once it went to BET. and the Akils dont care bc they just want $.

I loved seeing Miss Kimberly Elise for a total of 2 mins but this is not for grown folks. It's Bring It On/Mean Girls the series. I don't know what demo they're going for, especially after Love & Hip Hop goes off.

Couldn't agree more. LOVE me some KimberlyE but the rest.... Yeah, let's ditch the job interview at the bank to go to DEVIL GIRL tryouts. Frankly I'm glad she wouldn't be handling MY money. Strictly juvenile. imho. I wish it well after it's growing pains.
