That certainly didn't take long.

Roughly 2 months after it was announced that Tia Mowry would not be returning to BET's hit scripted series The Game next season, Nickelodeon has snatched her up for its nighttime cable network Nick at Nite (which targets adult viewers), to star in a new scripted family comedy sitcom called Instant Mom

Creadted by Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, and written by Warren Bell and Jessica Butler, Instant Mom (which is based on the real lives of Bell and Butler) centers on:

... a 25-year-old party girl (Mowry) who trades in Cosmos for carpools when she marries an older man with kids.

The plan is to cast an all-African American family, so for those who immediately wondered whether the man she gets involved with would not be black, you have your answer.

Mowry likely isn't losing any sleep over leaving The Game; she's one busy lady... from her hit reality TV show with her sister Tamera on the Style Network, to landing the lead role in an upcoming ABC Family movie titled Mistletones, to this new series on Nick At Nite.

She's also an author, and of course mother.

Her husband, Cory Hardrict, isn't doing to badly either.

Some empire-building happening here that we should keep our eyes on...

I think that Nick at Nite made a great choice to add her in this show. She is an amazing person and the world loves to see her and her sister. Those two together are beyond awesome and talented. If you wanted to make the show even better add her sister along also. Tia you rock and you are great at what you are doing. Keep it up! Terry Crews Is not a great character for the leading role. Him kissing Tia....UGHHHHH! Not a match. A good man to play the part should look handsome and good. A good husband would be someone be will smith or Khalil Kain.

I agree! Terry Crews should play the leading man! I enjoyed her on the game. I am looking for to seeing her on Nick at Nite. Now I will have an excuse to watch the channel ;)

Donald Faison would be a good choice as well

I think Terry Crew should be cast as Tia's husband. He is a amazing comedic actor and very funny. It will be good to see him on TV again since Are We There Yet

ongratulations Tia! I look forward to watching this show...on Tia & Tamera, they've mentioned the potential for a new show featuring the two of them, so I hope that pans out as well. I wish I could "Like" all of the previous comments, because they took the words right out of my mouth.

This is really great news. This could be a REALLY amazing show if it is written and casted properly. I just hope that they cast someone great for the husband. I understand that he will be "older", but don't make him too old. I am brainstorming now to think of who would be well cast as her husband......Omar Epps? I love him, but I don't know if he looks much older than Tia. He has sex appeal and he is an amazing actor. It would also be good to see him tackle a more comedic role.

Get that "mainstream" money, Tia!!! I knew she'd eventually be much better off after leaving the ghetto tragedy that the Game became on BET.

I'm excited to see it. Love Tia and glad she managed to get away from "The Game" since they are slowly going down the rabbit hole of ratchedness. This sounds fun and like it will better fit her personality.

    Sounds cute. Excited to watch!

Good for her. After BET acquired The Game it sank further and further into debauchery. The characters became downright unrecognizable and unlikeable. Glad she left that sinking ship and landed on her feet.
