A reminder for later on today for those of you in LA...

I won't arrive in Los Angeles for the festival until the 16th of this month, but thankfully the "genius bastard" himself, Mr Brandon Wilson (find him on Twitter HERE) who lives in Los Angeles, and who has covered events for S&A in LA in the past (you should have read all excellent his reviews of films at the UCLA LA Rebellion retrospective last fall) will be representing Shadow And Act in a panel discussion titled Diverisity In Film Criticism at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles TODAY, February 13th, from 5:30pm to 7pm.

The panel, which will be hosted by Kevin Robinson of Medium Rare TV, is described by the PAFF as follows:

The discipline of Film Criticism can benefit from other voices – specifically, voices that have a nuanced appreciation of other types of film other than the kind that are put out by the Hollywood machine. Film critics are an important and indispensable tool for the emerging filmmaker. Learn to cultivate those relationships so that they can benefit your film.

For a list of the rest of the scheduled panels and workshops at the PAFF this year, go HERE.

Yes, from interviews, to upcoming film reviews, and panel discussions, we've got the PAFF covered so those of you who can't attend shouldn't miss much :)

"Learn to cultivate those relationships so that they can benefit your film."

But nothing benefits a film more than making a GREAT one. :-)
