Tony nominee for The Scottsboro Boys Joshua Henry has been cast in Lifetime’s Army Wives as a season 7 series recurring (with the option to become a regular if there's a season 8).

Henry will play Quincy, Ashanti's husband.

As we announced in December, Ashanti joined season 7 of the series to play a character named Latasha Durant, described as "an optimistic mother of three, a sexy, fun woman who knows how to keep a husband – and how to keep him in line."

Ok then; looks like Quincy might be in for a a bit of a ride.

The 7th season began shooting in mid-December.

Good for him, too bad no one will probably be watching. I WAS a big Army Wives fan, but three of the regulars who started with the show have since left, or been written out, for varying reasons during the last three seasons. The young Hispanic actress they brought in, last season, and the guy who played her husband were nice additions. And good, strong actors. However, Ashanti is NO actress, and sans the kids, the young Hispanic woman's character, as described in the post, is kind of similar to the character Ashanti will be playing. I'm so tire of CDs casting singers who can't act in roles that REAL, trained, black actresses should have had a shot at. ... I mean when's the last time this chick released a single, much less an album? I can't even name the one hit wonder's one hit from the nineties. I say, Meh, to Ashanti.
