  I liked the show. I thought it was one of the few kid friendly shows on BET and I thought it should have been aired at 8pm during the family hour instead of at 10. I think they should have recast Tracee because her character leaving the family does not fit in the program. Would Clair leave the Huxtables?

  kid friendly? Yes. Good? HELL NO! I knew they were in trouble with the backstory of Ellis's character having two kids before Malcolm Jamal Warner. From that alone, everything about it screamed insincere sitcom made for cheap laughs.

  Why did they green light this crap show or the other one, Let's Stay Together. Both are awful in a nightmarish way.

  I lovelove Michole White- she played Faizon Love's girlfriend on the Parenthood (throwback) and was one of the lesbians in She Hate Me- but I'm not so big on Tony Rock. Either way, good for them. Maybe the show won't be so corny now.

  I love her too! She was excellent as the bitter cousin of Salli Richardson-Whitfield's character in I Will Follow. And I remember being really impressed with her back as a coke-addicted lawyer on 100 Centre Street around 10 years ago with Alan Arkin, Latanya Richardson and Bobby Cannavale. I'm not crazy about this show -- thought it had potential, just kinda lackluster though -- but I'll be tuning in to check out Michole and see if it gets more interesting to me. ... https://twitter.com/IvoryJeff/status/236233931211542528

  There's no option that's not ridiculous, but estrangement is more plausible than a potentially neverending business trip. At least they now have an actual storyline now, and won't spend the season being all "I just got off the phone with mom," "check out this picture your mom sent from the Netherlands," "what's Mom doing off camera now," and stuff like that. The weirdest part will be that she left the kids, particularly the older ones who are from an outside relationship. It's not a good show anyway, so I'm not up in arms over the change.

  It just doesnt fit at all for them to be separated. Disrupts the theme. They coulda made her travel for work or something. Which of course is ridiculous but not as ridiculous as them separating...

  Tracey Ellis Ross got that pilot Bad Girls with Jurnee Smollett, I'm not sure if it got picked up; could be midseason, so that's probably why she's off the show...for now? Maybe she made just a one season commitment to Reed, which would have been very smart for someone like her to do. They obviously want to keep on going with this series, so they opted to explain her absence making the couple estranged.

  I guess after the success of Let's Stay Together, they decided to put ratchetness in Reed as well. Of course I don't see how it makes sense given that this was supposed to be a celebration of black love.
