Returning for a second season, BET's comedy series Reed Between The Lines (starring Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Tracee Ellis Ross) has added Tony Rock, Charlie Robinson and Michole White to the cast, as series regulars.
Those who watched the first season of the series will know that it ended with
As THR notes...
The second season finds Alex's (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) life in turmoil now that he's faced with an unplanned separation. He'll turn to his family and oldest friends as he looks to adjust to life as a single father without his wife as he ponders how long Carla (Girlfriends' Tracee Ellis Ross) will be gone -- and if she's even coming back. To that end, Apollo Live's Tony Rock (brother of Chris Rock), Night Court's Charlie Robinson and Michole White (Living Single) have boarded the series as regulars.
Rock will play Julius Darren, and White will play Simone Winters - both old friends of Alex's, there to offer support.
Meanwhile Robinson will play Alex's feisty, wise and comical father, Monroe Reed.
Another product of Mara Brock Akil & Salim Akil, who exec-produce, along with Felisha D. Henderson and Sara Finney-Johnson.

I liked the show. I thought it was one of the few kid friendly shows on BET and I thought it should have been aired at 8pm during the family hour instead of at 10. I think they should have recast Tracee because her character leaving the family does not fit in the program. Would Clair leave the Huxtables?

I watched about .000002 seconds of ONE episode of this show, so I don't know what-which-away about it, anyway...

The real story is why Tracee left. Look into that. And why BET green lit this horrible very low rated show. #Drama

I lovelove Michole White- she played Faizon Love's girlfriend on the Parenthood (throwback) and was one of the lesbians in She Hate Me- but I'm not so big on Tony Rock. Either way, good for them. Maybe the show won't be so corny now.

I guess after the success of Let's Stay Together, they decided to put ratchetness in Reed as well. Of course I don't see how it makes sense given that this was supposed to be a celebration of black love.
This move seems to suggest otherwise.

WTF they separated? I thought this was a light family show that celebrated black love??? Oh BET.
