Candyman himself, Tony Todd, currently co-starring in the recently-released Final Destination 5, will be stepping behind the camera for the first time, to write and direct a supernatural thriller titled Catalytic.

The film centers on "a magician as he embarks on a road trip during an impending supernatural apocalypse." That's all the info available at the moment.

The film will be produced by Assembly Line, the same production company that produced the upcoming crime thriller Sushi Girl, which Todd also co-stars in, along with Mark Hamill, Michael Biehn, Sonny Chiba, Danny Trejo, and Jeff Fahey.

Casting is underway for Catalytic. No eta on when we can expect it, though some time in 2012 is likely.
