Marques Houston, Mekia Cox, Christopher Michael Jones, and Lynn Whitfield star in this junior You Got Served product from director C. Brian, which is expected in theaters on June 1.
Titled Battlefield America (sounds epic) and from the team that brough you You Got Served, the film's synopsis reads:
Battlefield America takes a steady look at the underbelly of the youth battle dance culture in Long Beach, California. Sean Lewis, a young, charismatic, successful businessman finds himself in the mix with a bunch of disheveled misfits Bad Boys, who have virtually no dance talent. Realizing his dilemma, Sean brings aboard a professional dance instructor to ease his responsibilities to these kids. Meanwhile, he finds himself falling for Sara, who runs the community center where the kids hangout and practice their moves. With Sean motivating them, The Bad Boys find the confidence to be contenders...

Since when has DANCING and showing kids in the hood been negative?? I guess movies about wanting to be a vampire or starving kids & forcing them to fight & kill as entertainment is better. Wise up DARKAN.
PunkyB | April 4, 2012 2:30 PM
KIDS DANCING?? Looks interesting to me! Doesn't look corny like Honey 2 or Step Up either.

This is really cool because the kids as actors were challenged to not play the typical "dumb pop kid" role thats soooo unrealistic like disney characters, lmbo. It has my interest i think they did good

PLEASE TELL ME THOSE WHO TOOK THEIR KIDS TO SEE HUNGER GAMES DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS FILM. DANCING & KILLING OTHER YOUNG HUMAN BEINGS CAN'T EVEN BE COMPARED!!!!! This movie looks GREAT & I can't wait to take my kids to see it!
Chantelly | April 3, 2012 2:14 PM
Corny or not, the kids in this movie look very talented & I would pay to see it. It looks like it could possibly be bigger than You Got Served because kids go crazy over these type of movies.
CareyCarey | March 23, 2012 2:46 AM
Before watching the clip, I asked my resident corny movie lover (my lady) to check it out. It didn't take her long to point out two dudes in this clip were in "You Got Served". I am * lol* because who but a corny movie lover would know that :-)? Anyway, it goes without question that she said she would pay to see this. And she's 3 times 7 plus some.

Surprised all the positive comments on this. Aside from the dancing, this looks completely ridiculous. I burst out laughing when those kids strolled into the restaurant, acting grown as hell like they drove themselves there. I would spend this entire movie asking "where are the parents?"

Nobody sees this is Marques Houston and wade from you got served like ever since wade's crew lost the final battle in the movie they all grew up and matured and looked to little kids to kinda relive there battle like a you got served prequel
Frosty | March 3, 2012 8:17 PM
Looks like a good, fun entertaining movie.

I think you guys are looking a little too deep into this trailer...it's a dance movie. These kids aren't running around in some third world country with ak-47's which is real by the way. Let's not be over critical of a trailer that is showing kids of all ethnic backgrounds in an urban setting dancing. I would go see it and take my kids to go see it as well.

Fly little movie...
Julisa | March 3, 2012 4:09 PM
They are so cute! The little girl with the short hair is so dope to me, for sure worth seeing
DrakeFan | March 3, 2012 3:48 PM
Even tho this is a kids dance movie & I am 21 I still want to see it because the dancing looks dope & it looks real & not like something Disney would play. Teens & adults will probably enjoy this movie too.
LEAH | March 3, 2012 3:45 PM
I have two younger kids & they love to dance, so I will definitely take them to see this June 1st.
Tracyp | March 1, 2012 6:24 PM
Wow Hot! The kids are so cute! It looks like there's real story to this I'm interested :)
Jojo126 | March 1, 2012 6:22 PM
This looks realllllly good, I think the dancing is amazing, and it's a wonderful platform for kids in this day and age to step up and show there true talents! Acting and dancing which they did well of showing both in this movie, will be seeing when it comes out!

I couldn't make it through the whole trailer it was too disturbing but i'm sure the producers of step up are kicking themselves they didn't think of "Step Up: The beginning" first..smh

I think this movie should do well. It looks like a mix between 'You Got Served' which had great dancing, and 'Reel Steal' which had great cinematography. I think all and all, I can't tell much of what the story is about from the trailer, but it should do really well in the market place.
Star Wars Fan....please send me what your smoking. A Cross between "You Got Served" and "Reel Steal". What a dis service to both films to say that. Yeah, this is as much like Reel Steal as "Friday" is similar to "Amadeus". You must work for the production company, nice try.
Richard | February 27, 2012 3:07 PM
Really?.... Are the last words of this trailer REALLY "This is War"?. What an embarassment to our service men to compare this D rate film to a "war". Totally classless and uncalled for. And then to dress someone in fatigues. I'm not a sensitive politically correct wing nut, but after seeing "Act of Valor" this weekend, I have to laugh at this. No problem, I can find this at the $2.00 bin at Wal Mart come June 3rd.

Yes Darkan, I have issues in which thug mentality is glorified amongst kids, not even preteen but little kids. It sad that people think that its "hot". Just like they found ways to sexualized little girls with "Brats" "Hannah Montana" Beyonce 'Ho's' in Training advertisement' for her clothing line and all that Disney/Nickolodeon nonsense. Now I seem that marketing to little boys thugs in training. SMDH. I do have kids, and it is a damn difficult road to navigate.

BTW - "BLACK CULTURE FOR SALE!!! COME ONE, COME ALL (unless you're a Black female, of course). WE ARE ALMOST COMPLETELY SOOOOLD OUT! We don't have much Hip Hop left, I think we've got a box or two in the back, but they're kind of hard to find because our landlord has it under lock & key, but what we CAN get you though, 17 years in the making, is pre-owned Hip hop dance, better than USED. Dealer certified. We've upgraded a lot of parts, especially the female parts (that's what we like to call them, some are useful, most ornamental) and injected a lot money making the once rough around the edges product, sleek, "easy to use" and most importantly accessible to EVERYONE... who matters. All yours folks, 75% off. Yeah, I know it's a steal, but the owner's sons are practically giving it away. What can you do? More dough for me."
Nadine | February 25, 2012 10:23 AM
... you hit the nail on the head Darkan.
SoulMan | February 25, 2012 12:46 AM
It looks like "You Got Served" meets "Hardball". The story looks redone but the dance sequences look hot.
Anaheimgirl | February 24, 2012 7:22 PM
This trailer looks good. I would definitely take my 9 year old daughter to see it.
Julie G | February 24, 2012 7:21 PM
HELL YESSSSS! June 1st baby I will be the first in line!
