Just received info on this film with the saliently controversial title written and directed by Baltimore native/NY-based filmmaker Goddey Asemota. With the tagline ‘One shirt, One night, One decision’, Soul Purpose Media presents NO HOMO.
The synopsis reads:
Lance Dixon and Dame Garrison are aspiring fashion designers who sell custom shirts on the streets of SoHo. Because of their love for fashion the two are consistently questioned about their sexuality. As a gag they make a shirt with NO HOMO written on the front to address their sexuality questions, and sell them at their stand. What happens next is a chain of events that’s leads to the unlikely meteoric rise through the world fashion.
The film stars Lee Garret, John Cannon, Brandon London, Pooya Mohseni, Shashone Lambert, and Christopher Rustin.
Sounds interesting, though I suspect the filmmaker will have a wild ride on his hands given the title, but it’ll also receive a whole lot of attention as well. Determine all that for yourself by checking out the trailer below. You can see more about the film and its screenings and discussions on their Facebook page as well as through Asemota’s direct email godbodi2001@yahoo.com

There maybe a niche audience for this film. This is a little different than the usual fare we receive. The subject matter and title may not sit too well with some. Too long for trailer though.

This looks like something I might wanna check out. Seems like an interesting storyline. Catchy but controversial title.

This trailer is god awful. The acting looks 3rd-grade-school-playish, the music is not only too damn loud but it's terrible music as well, the trailer is too long (keep it at about 2:30 the most, like mainstream trailers), the camera looks suspect. The concept seems interesting enough and original but this trailer does nothing for the potential of the film. It actually makes the film look preachy and biased.

I was eager to see this but after watching it felt flat, plus they should not expect to be invited to any fashion industry events anytime soon with their line of tees saying NO HOMO

Sign me up. Where can I get my No-Homo T-Shirt?

Interesting. But agree that the trailer told too much of the story. I feel like I just saw the movie from beginning to end, and know the full story.

The acting looks weak but the music in the trailer is way too loud. I barely can make out what they are saying. But this an interesting concept.

Ditto R.J. & Reece.. what's crazy though is that I'd still want to watch it becasue I like fashion as well as film, but stronger acting would really make this be something different to see.... now I'm on the whole Tambay post the other day about trailers, it seems like they almost gave too much of the story up, and the "Trailer voice" that comes with it was not needed..

I seems like a mixture of "The Social Network" and "How to Make it in America". It looks good in an aesthetic sense but, like REECE X said, the acting looks sub-par.
