Ok... so we finally get our first real look at the British drama/comedy starring Brit renaissance man Noel Clarke and Thandie Newton, amongst others, by way of a trailer which I embedded below.

Titled Huge, the film premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival last summer, has played a few others since then, and is only now getting a theatrical release... but just in UK theaters, next month - July 8th, specifically! Will it travel west for those of us here in the States? I dunno... Clarke isn't quite a known "name" here in the USA, although Thandie has some reach - much more-so than Clarke. So, who knows. Depends on how well it's received in the UK probably.

So what's Huge about again?

Warren and Clark meet when Clark heckles Warren on stage in a crowded comedy club. Their improvised banter goes down a storm, and Warren becomes convinced that destiny has spoken: Warren and Clark are meant to be the biggest comedy double act of all time. There's only one slight problem: they are terrible and can't get a gig. As their frustration mounts, and their efforts to get noticed become increasingly desperate, their bosom-buddy friendship begins to curdle into bitter rivalry. In a world that wants to deny their destiny, Warren and Clark must find a way to stick together if they are to have a chance of making it huge.

Noel Clarke plays "Clark." Johnny Harris plays "Warren."

Thandie Newton plays an entertainment agent from the USA.

I love Thandie Newton. She has incredible range as an actress. I wish she would do more films.

Glad to see any positive comment about Thandie Newton. Am I the only one that thinks she's underrated brilliant character actress? She's amazing for sure. I would absolutely fall to sleep on this in a movie theater or at home watching on Netflix, but I'd be up for Thandie's one scene b/c she has that quality which makes you pay attention.

This guy is making so many moves -- he's another one I wish we could get some time to chat with...and his name is NOEL!

Chuckles @Xi -- she did do that liquor ad for (what was it, Absolut?) I hate tequila but I would drink some Thandeway! So glad to see her in this film!

Thandie Newton is amazing! She has this bite to her.

If I ever come out with my own brand of tequila, I'd name it Thandie Newton.
