If you blink, you'll miss Michael Ealy. And even though I'm not the biggest fan of the franchise, I'd be remiss if I didn't give some recognition to Kevin Grevioux who's been involved with every film in the 4-film series (thus far), as a writer and/or actor. He actually created the original concept/premise and wrote the first screenplay with director Len Wiseman, which launched the franchise.

He's in the picture above - a still from the last Underworld movie, Rise Of The Lycans in '09.

This one is due for a January 2012 release.

Such as Rise of the Lycans, Awakening will not be directed by Len Wiseman, Beckinsale's husband and the director of the first two Underworld films. Swedish directing team Mans Marlind and Björn Stein (Shelter) dominate Awakening, but for those worried about the transition, the trailer implies that the sequel maintains the same blue-hued, black leather-clad look of the other films, and still arms vampires with handguns.

are you sure he's still involved? it's been stated in many places that he got screwed by wiseman and the other producers of this franchise.

    @ Jug
You owe a new keyboard. "TMZ is two sites down on the left" I'm still laughing.

Yes. Big ups to Kevin Grevioux. I love the franchise (because I like those kind of films and I am so glad a brother came up with the concept/written it.)

I will check it out. I hope the usuals will be in it.

    Can't wait.

Big ups to Kevin, an HU Alum!

Originally, he wrote his part much bigger, but feared they'd throw a rapper in it (which they would've), so he reduced it so that he could still star.

Sometimes you gotta look big picture...

I am really trying to figure out what their lack of kids has to do with the trailer? O_O

While no one except them knows whether or not they have been trying, it is strange that after seven years of marriage, Kate Beckinsale still hasn’t had any children with Len Wiseman. He has selflessly helped raise her daughter for all this time and she seems solely focused on her career.
