Love That Girl

TV One has announced the return of Love That Girl!, the half-hour comedy series chronicling the life and times of Imunique Jefferson and Delroy Jones.

Created by Bentley Kyle Evans (Martin, The Jamie Foxx Show), the 4th season features a cast that includes Phil Morris, Bresha Webb, Alphonso McAuley, Peter Oldring, Mark Adair-Rios, and Huggy Low Down.

It looks like Tatyana Ali will not be returning however.

New to the series during the upcoming season will be Reagan Gomez who'll be playing Del Jones Realty's newest employee, as well as Delroy's niece, Jasmine Russell, who discovers that making it in LA is tougher than she imagined.

"Our audience has been very vocal about their affinity towards this show," explained Alfred C. Liggins, III, President and CEO of TV One. "The return of Love That Girl! speaks to the strength of the series - our viewers championed its return, and TV One answered the call."

"I am delighted to continue my relationship with TV One and revisit these characters that were so dear to the audience," said series creator Bentley Evans. "I've been getting numerous questions about the series and it thrills me to share with everyone that we are back and better than ever!"

Production is scheduled to begin May 2013 with an anticipated premiere date in fall 2013.

Why is T. Ali not coming back to the Show?but itis apparent that Imunique
is the breakout star of the show? IStomorrow(is Phil Morris related
    to Greg Morris?

    He is his son.

Bresha Webb is the breakout star. I watch the show for "Imunique"

I'm glad to hear it's coming back ... Bresha Webb & Alphonso McAuley are hilarious, and Reagan Gomez is a great addition. I hope the writing has improved, because they've got the cast for a good comedy.

This show has one of the worst portrayals of gay people in modern television. Shameful gay minstrel show.

  • BeautyIAm | May 21, 2013 2:29 PMReply

Wow, this show is terribly unfunny.

I watched a few episodes when this first started. I thought it was awful, not funny and full of stereotypes. The cast seemed to have a hard time delivering the ridiculous lines in a believable way.

I kept hearing people say that this show was cancelled, but I never heard an actual cancellation announcement from TVOne.

I had a slight feeling that this show would be back.

Reagan is a great addition to the show. I just wish that they would pull a Stefan Urkel on Bresha's character and allow her to be sophisticated like the other women on the show. Bresha is super talented.

Changing lead actresses will not rid the show's biggest problem: the writing! TVOne's original scripted series are all terrible due to the fact that the writing is tenth rate. Until that is fixed, expect more mediocrity from TVOne's original scripted programs.

People love 10th rate writing. If people wanted good writing, they wouldn't be watching this network's original programming.

Although I have to believe Reagan is a better actress than the lovely, but abysmal Tatyana.
