Harry Lennix and
Ilfenesh Hadera (roles in
Spike Lee's Da Brick and
Oldboy), have both joined the cast of NBC's drama pilot The Blacklist, which centers on a character named Red (played by
James Spader), said to be the world’s most wanted criminal who mysteriously turns himself in and offers to give up everyone he has ever worked with, with the caveat that he will only work with a rookie FBI agent (played by
Megan Boone), with whom he doesn't seem to have a connection... or does he?
Lennix has signed up to play a
Harold Cooper, described as the successful yet cynical Assistant Director of Counter-terrorism at the FBI. And Hadera will play
FBI Agent Jennifer Palmer, who is the rookie FBI agent's best friend.
And actor/comedian
Ron Funches has booked a role on the NBC comedy pilot
Undateable, which is about a group of friends who are having trouble dating, and whose lives are changed forever when another character with no dating challenges enters their world.
Funches will play Shelly, described as an eccentric, shy musician member of the group of friends who becomes appealing to women when he’s performing.
