On the heels of this week’s home entertainment release announcement of Fruitvale Station, Anchor Bay Entertainment and RADiUS-TWC have also announce that the universally acclaimed 20 Feet From Stardom will also be available on DVD and Blu-Ray starting January 14, 2014

The crowd-pleasing hit film provides an intimate look at the lives of the backup singers behind some of the greatest musical legends of the 21st century.

They are the voices behind the greatest rock, pop and R&B hits of all time, but no one knows their names. In this award-winning film, director Morgan Neville shines the spotlight on the untold stories of such legendary background singers as Darlene Love (known for her hit “Christmas, Baby Please Come Home”), Merry Clayton (whose voice haunts the classic 1969 track by the Rolling Stones, “Gimme Shelter”), Lisa FischerClaudia Lennear, Judith Hill and more.

These are the triumphs and heartbreaks of music's greatest unsung talents, featuring rare behind-the-scenes footage, vintage live performances, and interviews with superstars Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Mick Jagger, Stevie Wonder and Bette Midler

The film features rare archival footage of musical legends Ray Charles, Michael Jackson and Luther Vandross

After much success on the festival circuit, RADiUS-TWC released 20 Feet From Stardom on June 14, 2013.  As the highest grossing documentary of the year thus far, the film has already earned nearly $5 million at the box office.

If you missed its theatrical run, look for it on DVD and Blu-Ray on January 14, 2014.

20 Feet From Stardom has a running time of 91 minutes and is rated PG-13 for some strong language and sexual material. DVD and Blu-Ray special features include deleted scenes, Q&A with Darlene Love, Merry Clayton, Lisa Fischer and director Morgan Neville, and the short film, The Buddy System.
