This isn't the first time that they have had acting challenges on this show. They've won guest starring spots on sitcoms, CSI, Veronica Mars. It's not THAT big of a deal. It's cross promotion. And everyone knows the industry isn't fair. Just being on the show period could give them an advantage in the industry.

There really could be the chance that one of them really does have acting chops--you never know...

I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't want to have his movie on my acting resume. Unless I was really desperate for a come up.

Cant stand TP, but from an actor's perspective, it's a studio movie, an opportunity to be seen by a wider audience, and proves to the industry that you're hireable. Studio movies look good on your resume, period. Even when directed by schlockmeisters Tyler Perry, Michael Bay, or Brett Ratner.

Katie, a role is a role. For an upcoming actor--hell for an established actor--the chance to work is first and foremost on their minds. Don't go saying things like this because there might come a time when you were really desperate and a role in TP's movie is all that is offered....

Honey please, before making such a silly statement you better ask Idris, Whoopie, Janet Jackson, Anika Noni Rose, Whoopi, Kimberly Elise, Thandie Newton, Phylicia Rashad,
Sharon Leal, Malik Yoba, Jill Scott, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Lamman Rucker
Keesha Sharp, Angela Bassett, Lance Gross, Rick Fox, Irma P. Hall, Frankie Faison, Louis Gossett Jr., Cicely Tyson, Blair Underwood and many many many more front-line black actors. They all have a Tyler Perry movie on their resume.

Oh stop crying MARIE and BLAGBIRD. They said "a role", not star as the lead. She could be in just one scene for all we know. In any case, its not like the "true actors" do any better in terms of emoting and true acting work. Plus Tylers material is not too great to begin with. So all in all, relax - youll be fine.

  • the black police | August 8, 2012 12:35 AM

    It makes sense.

  • blaqbird | August 7, 2012 6:03 PM

Black Police: no crying here. Doesn't matter if it's the lead or a supporting role; there are plenty of actors who would kill for even just two lines in his movie. "In any case, its not like the "true actors" do any better in terms of emoting and true acting work." What exactly do you mean by this? It doesn't make any sense.....

  • blaqbird | August 7, 2012 3:11 PMReply

I mean, really? I agree 100% with Marie. Why in the world would he go to ANTM when he had tons of actors submitting video via YouTube to be apart of his movies and a young woman buying out billboard space to get a speaking role in one of his films???

And Alicia Keys as a mentor for the models??? Karlie Kloss, Chanel Iman, Lindsay Wixon, Freja Beha, Coco Rocha weren't available??? SMH...

  • Marie | August 7, 2012 2:45 PMReply

Exactly what the next TP film needs, a wooden mannequin/model attempting to create a character over the course of two hours. Let the models model and the actors act, thank you.

  • Akimbo | August 8, 2012 10:49 AM

    "There's NO saving," geez!

  • Akimbo | August 8, 2012 10:48 AM

There's. I saving a Tyler Perry movie, so what's the harm in throwing in a model? He's already cast a Kardashian, Teyana Taylor, the talentless Rochelle Aytes, and I'm sure many others who have no business being in a movie.
