Teaser for one of the short films in competition at the Urbanworld Film Festival this year (making its USA premiere), titled Record/Play, directed by Jesse Atlas, starring Mustafa Shakir and Deepti Gupta.

In the drama/sci-fi/thriller, a malfunctioning cassette tape captures more than just audio.

I've screened the film, and it explores an intriguing idea that you probably won't immediately, completely grasp in the teaser below. I can always appreciate a filmmaker pushing for something beyond the usual, expected fare.

But those attending the festival will get to see it in full, and I'm sure the filmmaker will eventually make the entire film available for viewing on the web, once it's completed its film festival run.
