"What keeps me in the business is hope, the hope that women of color are also a part of the narrative, that our stories are just as potent because we also have the power of transformation."

Powerful words from the beautiful Viola Davis, a 'favorite' to win the Best Actress or Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as Aibileen in this years controversial hit The Help. Davis was an honoree at the Elle Women in Hollywood event earlier this week. In her speech, Viola tells a hilarious story about her imaginative playtime with her sister as a child while growing up very poor in Rhode Island, and her determination to make her dreams come true.
