The Viola Davis education drama, initially titled Still I Rise, and then switched to Learning To Fly last month, has gotten another name-change.

It's now titled Won't Back Down, although I won't get too comfy with that title yet because it just might change again; why not? This is its 3rd name.

Also, it was initially scheduled to be released on March 30th, 2012, but the studio distributing it (Fox) has pushed that date all the way back to September 30th. No immeidate reason given for the shift; likely just better positioning it to be successful.

The education drama, produced by Walden Media & 20th Century Fox, is centered on two frustrated mothers (played by Viola and Maggie Gyllenhaal) who team up to transform an inner-city public school in Pittsburgh, PA

Rosie Perez as well as Fringe and The Wire star Lance Reddick co-star in the film playing the tough head of the school board (Perez), and Viola Davis' husband who also happens to be a teacher (Reddick).

Daniel Barnz (Beastly) directed the film.

No media to show yet, but soon I'm sure.

I imagine they wisely moved it to critical season for award potential. Gone are the days where critical films released in the 1st quarter, sustain support or P&A life come September. Viola's performance, deserves optimum exposure.

Most likely. They took a look at it and decided the film was likely Oscar worthy stuff and pushed it back to take advantage of it. It's happened before with other films
