Quite possibly the first of other solo awards to come for her performance in the film...

The Santa Barbara Film Festival will honor Viola Davis with the festival's Performer Of The Year award for her portrayal of "Aibileen Clark" in this year's heavily-debated drama (and one of the highest grossing of 2011) The Help.

The honor will be celebrated on January 27 at the Arlington Theater in a tribute that will be moderated by indieWIRE's own Anne Thompson.

The SBFF will run from January 26 through February 5th.
