More from Pariah press day in New York City...
Here's the star of the film Adepero Oduye chatting openly with about a variety of issues related to the film, like how she prepped for her role by going to a lesbian party in character, her blossoming career as an actress, following her dream despite the odds, defeating expectations, learning to stay true to herself and not give into industry pressures (especially with respect to black actresses), what's next for her, and more.
Watch the 15-minute video below, and thanks to Adepero for the time:

I haven't seen the film but I plan on it. It's so nice to see more black actresses getting an opportunity to shine! It's in this way that racial equality can truly come to pass. When black people see themselves (as they really are and not an idealized version or a version that "others" think we are) only good can come.

Great interview. A.O. gives a tremendous performance. She's clearly on the rise.
On another note, this "home video" style interview is hilarious and amusing in a certain way; it says a lot about how technology, the web, audience interaction, viewership has totally changed. Case and point: that dude pops in mid-way and say "2 minutes" smack in the middle of a 'press junket'. And as a viewer/user, it looks and feels like the 8mm video days with a Sony Camcorder-aesthetic to boot.
