Here's a first look at Endless Love, Universal's remake of the 1981 film perhaps best known for giving us the Lionel Richie and Diana Ross ballad of the same name.
The 1981 romantic drama starred Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt in an obsessive teenage love affair, based on the 1979 novel by Scott Spencer who, to put it mildly, wasn't a fan of the original movie.
This new version is being billed as more of a romantic thriller, and is apparently targeting a younger crowd with several changes in plot, character, and geography. Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde star.
Dayo Okeniyi (The Hunger Games) co-stars in what's been described as a meaty role, as best friend to Pettyfer's character.
Endless Love comes to theaters on Valentine's Day 2014.
