While you wait for VH1 (assuming you're waiting) to debut Black Ink, a new addition to its slate of programming, which centers on a successful Harlem tattoo shop staffed, who boast hip hop stars, athletes and celebrities as clients, take a look at this new web series from the folks behind the feature documentary, Color Outside The Lines - a film we've written a bit about on this site, including a review which you can read HERE.

Titled Under The Needle, the web series...

... will provide viewers with insight into what you as a consumer, should look for when you make the decision to get a tattoo. You will learn about the different styles of body art, techniques used, how artists come up with their ideas and actually see them apply these works of art to skin.

The series is 2 episodes in, and both are embedded below.

The first features an ATL-based up and coming tattoo artist named Paper Frank, who works at the City of Ink shop.

The second, features City of Ink's Roger Parrilla.
