Wait..don't roll your eyes. I know what you're saying.... "Oh God not ANOTHER web series!"

True. It seems that there are too many of them and they're all beginning to look alike. I understand. I really do. I admit I'm becoming weary (and wary) of them too.

And yet I think this new one just might have some potential if the creators of the show can keep up the creativity of the series.

It's called Finding My Obama and deals with a single young African American woman (played by Nefetari Spencer) who's tired of all the games and losers she's been dealing with and sets out to find a man of substance.

The series was created and written by veteran TV sit-com writers Antonia March and Jacqueline McKinley, who have such shows as The Bernie Mac Show and Are We There Yet?, to their numerous credits, as well as the short films Move and Oxtails.

All four episodes so far can be found on the Finding My Obama You Tube channel HERE. Watch below for Episodes 1 and 2.

I really enjoy this series! It's just funny to me.

I love the fact that Nefertari is so good at physical comedy, but it's not over used -- and I also love the fact that premise leaves room to go in a lot of different directions. I'm looking fwd to seeing where this is going and where Nef lands at the end of the season.

Bad, bad, so bad. I'm at least relieved to see that Nefetari & Robin (who, along with the amazing Angela Yarbrough & others, belong to a hilarious all black female sketch comedy troup) had nothing to do with the writing of this series. The show adds nothing to the overdone "searching for love" genre, badly written, shot & edited poorly, and is a waste of Robin Thede & Sidney Castillo. Ned may not be my favorite actress, but even she is better than this.

looking forward to the day when we see stories about black characters in relationships digging for something a little deeper, a little more complex and less self serving.

I don't understand the point of highlighting (in some detail) how unsuitable the first guy was, AFTER she slept with him. The show looks totally self defeating.
Tell me WHY she`s " Looking for Obama" and what exactly she has to offer him.

He pulled out her track? LOL The first 3 minutes of episode reminds me strongly of the first scene from "Jumping the Broom". Then 3:16 is Chris Brown's role in "Think Like a Man". How did she know the second dude was father material? She never saw him interact with children. Video 2: Kyle's Obama impression is hilarious, but why is Nef hanging out with her ex? She should have run for the hills as soon as the guy in the suit said that he worked the early shift. People in suits don't get off work at 2 p.m. LOL!!! The animal in the cart was hilarious. My overall thoughts: This definitely is A LOT better than many of the web series that S & A posts. I totally get the concept of wanting a husband similar in personality and demeanor to President Obama. I also must note, though, that Mrs. Obama struggled in the trenches with President Obama. They had to pay student loans and raise two children. It wasn't always balling with celebrities and $2,500 plate dinners hosted by SJP. In order to get an "Obama" you may have to struggle in the trenches for a while with the brother. Heck, he may even be the homeless guy. Hill Harper talks about this very thing in his book, "The Conversation". Some of us Black women are willing to be there before you have everything in order. Every women is not superficial or focusing on what type of car you drive.
