The Carrie Diaries is based on Candace Bushnell’s novel, and chronicles Carrie Bradshaw’s coming of age in the 1980s when she asks her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family, while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan.
Agyeman plays the role of Larissa, Carrie’s mentor, described as a hip, cutting-edge editor/party girl who works at Interview magazine.
The first trailer/preview of the new series surfaced a few days ago, and is embedded below (the series is expected to debut in January 2013); Agyeman first appears about halfway through, after the initial set-up:

I would only watch it for Larissa's outfits. #ShamelesslyShallow

Why couldn't just be a show about Larissa? Never mind, I already know the answer.

Happy to see Freema getting more camera time. May check it out just to see her in action but probably won't stick w/the show. Now big on CW series and never did get caught up in Sex in the City.

I see that they finally found a way to work diversity into the series in a meaningful way. I love J-Hud, but they did her a disservice with the way they just slapped her into the second half of the feature film as an afterthought.
