Good Monday morning to you all, and a Happy New Year.
Back to work after a few days off.
So this is my very first post of 2012; a touching short film titled Hello Benjamin by Solomon Shadrach Turner - his senior project at Oberlin College - whose father (Benjamin) died in 1990, when Solomon was just a kid... a kid who so obviously loved and, as he says in the film, not just wanted to be like his father, but to be his father, though he never really got to know him well because he died young.

Very moving, indeed. Captivating, profound. This film says far more about loss---and faith---than most films who talk directly about them. There's so much talent out there... it's almost overwhelming. I'll be watching for more from Solomon Shadrach Turner...

Wow, what a touching tribute. Your father would be proud, Solomon -- will be proud.

the high quality of this short brings to mind that we would benefit from a ratings system on S&A. thank you for sharing

Solomon, what a great testament to your beloved father. Your film brought tears to my eyes. I can tell that you have a great future ahead of you because of your deomonstration of compassion, empathy and love. Good luck with your future endeavors.
