Here's a clip from MandelaLong Walk to Freedom, which stars Idris Elba as Nelson Mandela and Naomie Harris as Winnie Mandela, in a film directed by Justin Chadwick, which highlights Mandela's early life, education and 27 years in prison.

The Weinstein Company will open the film in the USA on November 29 - likely as one of its Oscar contenders. Reactions and reviews after its TIFF premiere last month were mostly strong.

South African stars Tony KgorogeRiaad Moosa, Zolani MkivaJamie Bartlett, Lindiwe MatshikizaDeon Lotz and Terry Pheto, round out the cast.

The new clip below highlights Mandela's early days as an attorney, in the 1950s, when he and Oliver Tambo (fellow anti-apartheid activist and African National Congress central figure) opened their own law firm, operating in downtown Johannesburg.

I'm still not entirely sold on Idris as Mandela, and this clip doesn't help much. BUT, I'll certainly see the film in full, when the time comes. Press screenings are likely around the corner.

Oscar contender? I don't think so... this movie was soooo boring I feel asleep 5 times. I kid you not, I tried to stay involved but this lifetime(ish) non-drama was a drag.

I don't know, maybe I was just tired from walking through the thousands who had gathered in anticipation of The Chicago Marathon. Yep, Michigan Avenue was a mess and I am not a spring chicken anymore, so maybe it was a combination of old legs and a tired movie. But I'm telling you, this movie was... well... dull.
