Here's your first good look at Idris Elba as Moreau, the French alcoholic monk in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (I can already hear the cries of some of you folks who'll ask, "why does the black man have to be an alcoholic?" See, I'm one step ahead of ya; I already asked the question, so you don't have to ask it again :))

Maybe the question you should instead be asking is whether the brotha lives to see the end of the film, or does he succumb to the "brotha rule?"

Anyway... the film will see Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider (Nicholas Cage), "hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. Blaze is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Ciaran Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the kid’s birthday."

The flick opens on February 17th, 2012. I didn't at all care for the first Ghost Rider movie, so I won't be in any hurry to see this sequel.

I like Idris the more I see his work. But I don't believe I'm able to sit through Ghost Rider. I'll support his other upcoming projects though (Prometheus).

why does the black man have to be anything other than an even-tempered, well-education, upper class, uber professional father of well-behaved little kids? he should be perfect at all times...just like all those characters of other ethnic groups always are!!! right!?

Good to see Idris take on different roles. He's versatile.

"Maybe the question you should instead be asking is whether the brotha lives to see the end of the film, or does he succumb to the "brotha rule?"

-See, I watched the clip before I read your commentary and I thought the same thing. Forget the alcohol, does he survive the cliff? Why the black man got to fall off a cliff? Huh?
