As someone once said, the great James Brown was "a force of nature." I can't think of a better definition of who Brown was, and his impact on music.

And animation filmmaker Xavier Fauthoux obviously thinks so too, as he created this remarkable animated short, for Vimeo's 2012 Awesome Music Video Challenge, about Brown's life, career and the spirit of the times. It's titled It's a Man's Man's Man's Man's World.

This year's challenge was in celebration of Brown's entire catalogue being released on iTunes this past spring, and the re-issuing of his legendary album, James Brown Live at the Apollo, set for later this year.

Only one problem with this short - that it's short. I would LOVE to see a feature length version of this film. And I'll bet you would too.
