We last posted about this film back in April of last year, when Cynthia reported that Keke Palmer would star in the upcoming Nickelodeon TV film Rags, produced by Nick Cannon, directed by Billy Woodruff (Honey) and scored by Rodney Jerkins.

The film, in which Palmer plays a pop starlett, also stars Max Schneider and Drake Bell.

Here's the full synopsis:

“Rags, a music-infused modern-day fairy tale debuting this spring. The two-hour original TV movie centers on Charlie Prince (Max Schneider), an orphan living with his acerbic and unloving stepfather and spoiled stepbrothers, whose dream of being a singer might come true once he meets pop star Kadee Worth (KeKe Palmer). Rags is executive produced by Nick Cannon, directed by Billy Woodruff (Beauty Shop, Honey) and features original music by Rodney Jerkins and choreography by Rosero McCoy (America’s Best Dance Crew).”

No word on the premiere date as of yet.

So, who will be tuning in to Nickelodeon?

Check out the trailer.

I like Keke, but I have to say it. Is there a black boy that could pair her with in any movie?

@ Afrostyling Is this article about Will Smith? Yeah I am going to post a question about Will in a segment about Keke. Um.. obvious response. SMH

Why dont you also posit this question to Will Smith?

We're big KeKe Palmer fans in our house. We love her image (though I'd like to see her sport a more natural look once in a while).

It will be Must See TV for my nine-year old (and us, by default). Thanks for this.

For the youngins'... however, Keke's got talent and she out acted Lawrence Fishburn in Akeelah and the Bee. Looking forward to future work from her.

It seems to be a twist on the cinderella tale.

It's true she in feature films but I would like to see her as major star or at least to have the option of only working in solid films to make a living. In the films she's been in, she's shown she can carry one talent wise.

Ummm . . . Keke has already made that jump, boo.

  • Micah | March 19, 2012 10:51 PM

I hope Keke can make a solid jump to feature films. She has a face and body that the camera loves.

I appreciate KeKe's "teen clean hustle". Do ya thang girl. Chi-town represent!
