  A must miss film that mixes action, crime and comedy up in a pot and feeds our movie going need for good old fashioned black female stereotypes and no holds barred torture porn. Most importantly it’s a love story in the greatest sense of the phrase. It is about unconditional love, between a stripper and her kidnapper.

  Now my question isn't THAT relevant, but is Cream really her name in the movie or is that just her stripper name? Because if they say "Cream" in serious scenes in the movie...

  There will be a time, in the near future, that academics who specialize in Film Studies will dissect and analyze the hoodrat genre of Black Cinema. They will pontificate via studies, papers, books, and lectures on the aesthetic qualities, the social significance and the influence that lead to such genre. They will probably take all the way back to New Jack City and speak about the peak of the Master P Era of the sub-urban genre. What they will not say is that because of the access to digital technology, the dumbing down of America, and the crass aggressive capitalism epitomized by the mortgage meltdown was a conducive environment for this badly put together schlock. This is bad storytelling (This trailer stinks) bad acting, bad lighting. All around bad film making. But no matter how much we Black cineaste hem and haw. This subgenre of urban film --the "(keeping it real) hoodrat" genre is here to stay.

  Yep--just like so many people now wax poetic about how great the blaxploitaiton era was. Every time i try to watch one of those movies I try really hard to put myself in that time period to appreciate it, but can't get past how awful they are. Except for Cleopatra Jones-lol. Your comment makes me think i should have considered writing a 'hoodrat genre' analysis for my thesis.
